28 Star Valley Temple in Afton, Wyoming April 19, 2016

Back during the cold war era, my Mom bought 133 acres of BLM ground with the idea that if we ever had to exit our home in Utah that we could come here and survive.  The Bagleys (neighbors and good friends on the Uintah Bench)  also bought a large amount of land.  After Red died they sold their property,  We still own the land and are looking for a buyer.

We have always hard a place in our hearts for Star Valley.  Our Mom (Inez) loved it so.Our family almost moved there once to Afton to buy a hotel and restaurant.  It still stands but is very old now.
Larry and Inez would go up to the property to mend fences and really enjoyed being there!  They would take his boys and Joyce and Muriel.  I was married and living in West Valley by then.

This is right on the main street of Afton, Wyoming
Little did we know that they were going to install the Angel Moroni on Monday.
We were there on the Tuesday before!

It is just inside the city limits in the south side of Afton.
They are doing the landscaping now and will have an Open House in September.

This is taken from the Stake Center parking lot about a block to the south.

We stopped in to visit with Ron (a local) who owns LDS Home Decor.  They have some beautiful fine wood products.  He says that now it takes all day to go to the temple because they have to drive either to Logan or to Idaho Falls.  Each temple takes about the same amount of time.
Now it will be minutes away!  What a blessing to so many!!!

Family Proclamation

It's been 21 years since this was issued in Sept. 1995!

It was true then and even more needed now!

This link goes to Pres. Hinckley's Address when he read this at Relief Society Conference
